With the abundance of information out there vying for your attention, I know you are asking yourself, “why Suzy?”

I’ve worked with thousands of families over almost 40 years in pregnancy, labor, birth, breastfeeding, and early childhood.

I am a nurse, lactation consultant, childbirth educator; but I’ve also been a business leader, educator, community organizer, and volunteer across schools, Church, neighborhoods, and campaigns.

Moreover, I’m a parent of two who has struggled with things that should have been easy. Only in retrospect did I learn the lessons I wish I knew sooner.

I’ve studied people and culture, formally and informally, to try to understand why we are so confusing and why some things are so hard when it seems like they shouldn’t be.

With the help of experts from a wide collection of fields, I’ve distilled what I’ve learned into lessons that help expectant parents approach parenting with a framework that provides structure, understanding, and a set of skills to develop.

I don’t promise to take the challenge of parenting away, but I help shift the mindset about the challenges from one that feels like inevitable suffering to one that feels like meaningful growth.

I embrace the idea of education as a lost art in the Information Age. I won’t just tell you the what, but answer the why and how to give you the tools you need to problem solve and pivot instead of panic.
